Although they claim the 14" adapter is what works with the machine, I suspect the 8" would be a much better fit. I bought this and the box came within a few days. I opened it up to find out that this was a box that had been opened previously and a few pieces were mising. Don't know who exactly to blame on that (Body Solid or Amazon) but I was extremely disappointed by this. I called Body-Solid and they sent out the missing parts immediately. Once I had all parts assembly was not too bad but took a little while. I could see it being tough for the not-so-handy types, or the guys who get almost all the way through a project and notice they forgot a bolt from step 1 (I would be that category). I purchased this bench 7 months ago and have been very happy with it. It's sturdy, and meets my benching needs (I rep with 225 lbs). In addition, I use it to brace myself when doing dumbbell rows and the leg extension is a nice plus. It's true that the leg attachment is sized for standard weights; however, for around $10 you can buy the Olympic adaptor which works great. I got this bench to replace an ancient York incline bench I have had for 30+ years. The Body Solid bench is much heavier duty and inspires much more confidence in handling a load than my old bench.
